• Global mid-core PvP games studio Hypemasters relocates in Abu Dhabi to tap growing gaming community in the emirate

AD Gaming is excited to welcome a new partner into its ever-growing community of world-class gaming companies. Hypemasters, the global game development studio behind the highly successful World War Armies multiplayer strategy game, has opened a new development centre in Abu Dhabi under the AD Gaming umbrella, relocating its global team to the emirate.

Founded in 2019 as a remote-working studio, Hypemasters grew rapidly from a team of five to almost 40 people throughout the pandemic. The remote-working model meant Hypemasters could look globally for its talent, dramatically increasing its ability to build the best team.

Though as it continues its journey to redefine the mid-core PvP gaming genre, Hypemasters needed to bring its team together to facilitate more collaboration and creativity. They also needed to operate in a supportive, business-friendly environment. Like many other global studios, they have landed on Abu Dhabi.

In line with its mandate to build a sustainable, high-value gaming industry in Abu Dhabi, AD Gaming is providing Hypemasters with a range of incentives, including subsidised office space, access to the AD Gaming Hub, and some of the most sought-after licences in the industry through another AD Gaming partner, Unity Technologies.

On their decision to base Hypemasters in Abu Dhabi and collaborate with AD Gaming, Co-Founder and CEO Boris Kalmykov said: “We have chosen Abu Dhabi and AD Gaming as they help with everything that you need to operate.
